Air conditioning in a motor vehicle is a combination of the car heater and a refrigerant circuit. This allows the desired climatic conditions to be maintained regardless of the outdoor conditions. This makes air conditioning a significant factor for safety and driving comfort.
Air conditioning systems require regular service and occasional repair. In addition to checking the refrigerant and replacing it at the necessary intervals other measures are recommendable:
- Replacement of drier (every 2 years)
- Disinfection of evaporator, annually (fungus spores and bacteria)
- Replacement of passenger compartment filter, annually (fungus spores and bacteria)
- Accident repair to system
Have you...
- ...odd smells inside your vehicle?
- ...a windscreen that doesn't clear quickly?
- ...to wait a long time for the interior to cool down?
- ...an increased fuel consumption?
If you answered yes to any of the above then it is time to have your air conditioning looked at.
Have the confidence in our competence and take advantage of our air conditioning service.
It's all about your health and optimum driving comfort.
Did You Know That..
...Your air conditioning should be
- Checked annually
- Serviced bi-annually
... Serviceable items need changing just like you have oil and air filters changed.
ALL the above are NOT usually included in the manufacturers service schedule.
Are you aware that as from July 2010 all MAC technicians must have achieved, as a minimum requirement, a refrigerant handling qualification which meets EC Regulation 307-2008.If not they are not permitted to work on your airconditioning system. This is enforced by DEFRA (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs)
